Joe is from Wisconsin, so it’s a given that he loves beer, cheese, and The Packers.
He also loves good customer service. In fact, he loves it so much that he built an entire consulting business out of providing great customer experiences and has named it, Customer Passion.
Joe loves reliving the “good ol’ days” and has the best stories about trouble-making with a high school buddy he refers to as “crazy Jimmy”, throwing parties by the pond on his family farm, Miflin Street Block parties in Madison, and Drew’s mouse-stomping cowboy boots in the AIESEC apartments.
Anyone who knows Joe can attest that he has an insatiable appetite. He loves food a WHOLE LOT. Living in San Francisco we have plenty of food options, but I think he’ll always miss his rooftop cookouts with Scott on the Upper West Side, barbeque at Brother Jimmy’s, and the ever-important New York staple…pizza. :)
However, Joe’s appetite isn’t limited to food. He also has a huge appetite for knowledge. He loves watching the History Channel, Meet the Press, Discovery, Nova, whatever show will fuel his Jeopardy-playing abilities – which he regularly kicks my butt at! He loves learning about new cultures, history, technology, you name it.
Joe never shies away from trying new things. He has traveled to over 25 countries and has lived in 3 in them – India, Colombia, and the U.S.
I think Joe laughs about 5 times more than the average person. And his laugh must be about 5 times louder as well. It’s one of my favorite things about him. He’s the kind of person that everyone loves because he’s warm and always makes you feel at ease.
Joe loves puppies, which is good, because we’re going to get one immediately.
Joe is not a fan of cold weather, The Producers, bad customer service, Pabst Blue Ribbon, or peas.
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Jill “Jillo” Okawa, as told by her groom
The first thing you need to know about Jill is that she has a great sense of humor she needs one in order to put up with Joe jokes. And that’s one of my favorite things about her she actually laughs at my jokes, and sometimes at me, but that’s ok.
What Jill gets most passionate about is her friends and family and spending quality time with them especially her close friends and reconnecting with friends she doesn’t get to see often. So, if you’re reading this, be sure to visit us!
She misses her family very much and wishes she could spend more time with them, especially her new baby nephew Aiden. When she can’t make it to Portland to see Aiden, she usually snuggles up with Teddy and falls asleep on the couch before bedtime.
Jill loves music, rock concerts, and discovering hot upcoming bands (any hipness I have in that department I owe to her), which is why it’s probably a good thing she plays a big part at Virgin Mobile Festival where she is responsible for greening the whole experience and gets to hang out with celebrities like Richard Branson and KT Tunstall to name a few. In true Virgin fashion, she loves coming up with provocative marketing campaigns that also help society at the same time. And she really digs new experiences, like checking out last week’s Love Fest.
Although I’m the one with the big appetite, Jill loves discovering the amazing cuisine NYC and San Francisco restaurants have to offer. Of course, she’s also a sucker for old favorites like Pinkberry.
Jill dislikes arrogance, buffalo wings, and people who don’t reuse, reduce, recycle.
Jill loves shopping for shoes, dancing, shopping for boots, Colorado Buffaloes football, shopping for purses, sukiyaki, more shopping online, dancing and last but not least, puppies.
